RE: Chaparral Parking Lot Sale...

I have not had the best experience there either. I have found that if you do not get up at 5am and get in line to wait, there is not much left. Might want to check out 1st place motorsports in apple valley. They are having a parking lot sale this weekend and I have dealt with a guy named Tony who has done me right. Ride safe.

Feedback on Attitude trailers

Just wanted to post on my experiences with Attitude and factory service. I have had a couple of minor issues and the people at Attitude have been great. They obviously care enough to take care of their customers. Danny and Chris have been excellent to deal with. Also, very happy with my trailer, I would do it all over again. The infamous weight sticker was also incredibly accurate. :) Terry 2009 Attitude 27 pull tralier, glass sides.

RE: Is this a good deal??

There is no msrp for attitude. They make up what they want. Kind of a newer company thing. The deal does not sound bad, but we do not know what options you have and the 09 models have major upgrades. Check out carls trailers while your at it. They gave me a better deal than Mcmahons. Terry

Attitude/Eclipse

Anyone know how Attitude is doing? I have not heard any rumors or anything, just wondering after watching others fail. Thanks. Terry

RE: Toy Hauler with a 1/2 ton truck

I pull a 27ft attitude that weighs in with propane, batteries, and a little bit of stuff at 8k. I have an 08 titan that does very well. I cannot fly up the hills and I do not tow it loaded with bikes or water unless I am going very close. I am not over any weight ratings, but I take it real easy and am in no hurry to get there. Terry

Need help with a/c

On my new trailer I just tried out the a/c since its now 100 degrees here. Mine is a 15k btu roof mount that is ducted, but does not have the cold air vent that can open right next to the return air, I think I am going to need to change that grill. Also, I only have two air vents in the front and two in main area, for a total of 4. I do not think that is enough for my size of unit and trailer, 27ft. I noticed that duo-therm has the other vented grill as an option, not sure why attitude did not send it out that way, but I will be on the phone in the morning. Any suggestions? Thanks. Terry

RE: Generator Issue

Is the genset on the same side as the repair? Sounds like this started to happen after the repair? Sounds like your leaking exhaust fumes inside and do not have airflow to cool the generator. Check the area under the gen. Their is openings for the hot air to vent out, also check the whole exhaust pipe carefuly, maybe it became disconnected somewhere. Make sure you do this with the unit cold so you do not burn yourself. Grab the exhaust pipe and move it around, does it seem to be hooked up correctly? Get you genset owners manual out, it should show a cooling diagram for airflow around the gen. , the install manual may help you more. Can't think of anything else right now, good luck. Terry

RE: leaving back bunks down?

In my Warrior I had, I left the manual bed down and it came out of the track or brackets in front doing major damage to the sidewalls and such. I was honest with warrior when I called them and they took care of it, they treated me very well, but this was back in 05. Terry

RE: WW 5th 2805 SL

Thats a tough one. I had an 05 WW that was ok and that was supposed to be their better quality times. I think most of the problems have to do with the lite line. They really cut corners, and its not just weight saving, cost saving to. But its not just warrior, its all of the ones I have seen. I looked up warriors rating on my local Better business bureau and their rating was an F. But so was attitude and others that had a rating. I am taking a chance on a new attitude, but I know going in after owning 3 rvs not to expect to much. They are not built to the same standards as the auto industry. I just hope to be trouble free, be able to fix the little stuff myself. Look at everything real good before hand and try and look at the service dept, what do you mostly see in there? I also like to check with the independent shops and ask their opinion. My last rv was an 06 Monaco class A 40ft. I am happy its gone, what a nightmare. 200k piece of sh*t. By the way, what is your friend reccomending? Terry

RE: Looking for our 1st Toy Hauler

Weekend warrior used to have good resale value, those days are gone. There are a ton of them for sale used and they have got a lot of bad pub lately. But, nothing has good resale in the market. I do not like their wood framed furniture, and I still question their weight figures. I do not see the same build quality they once had. Terry

RE: Tire pressure question

"You're saying that you wore out your tires because you were 15lb over inflated? Two replacement tires were $900? " Yes, My 06 Monaco 40ft class A motorhome. The tires were goodyears and were inflated to 110lbs. They wore very stangely, outside tread cupped real bad and wore down compared to the center. Reason, at highway speeds, the tire did not have enough weight on it to keep the the center flat on the road, kinda like dragster tires getting taller when spinning. I was very skeptical at first until 2 truck shops told me the same thing and after weighing the unit and reading the tire inflation chart and seeing that they should have been inflated to 95 psi. Never had a wear problem after going with 95psi. Terry

RE: Tire pressure question

I agree with Jim and others about max inflation, inflate to the heaviest side of the actual rate. Reason I say this is , I wore out my front tires prematurely on a new class a with 18k miles. I had goodyear inspect to see what the problem was as I always kept the air at or near the max on the weight sticker on the motorhome. Turns out after weighing the unit I was 15LBS over in air according to the goodyear chart. I had to pay for the new tires and afterwards followed the chart and never had a problem again Cost me $900 for 2 tires. The chart is there for a reason, the tires do not wear properly if they are over/under inflated. Terry

RE: Tire pressure question

You need to check the mfg load table which will tell you what to properly inflate them to, after you weigh your trailer and know the axle weights.

RE: Towing With 2007 F150 , Opinons Please

You should be fine as earlier stated. WW is not accurate on their weights. Make sure that you weigh before you buy, and that includes weighing the tougne weight. The reason why you weigh the tounge is so that you do not exceed the gvwr. For example my Titan weighs in at 5600, tounge wt of trailer is 950. My gvwr is 7200. I have about 650 lbs left.

RE: T-H feedback

Just my 2cents, I am not a coachman fan at all. Forestriver has come a long ways, but look at it carefully. Is it a lite model? Be very careful if it is. I have been shopping and noticed that all the brands I have seen use the lite excuse to really cut some corners. Just an example, Forest river lite pull trailer does not have a ducted furnace. It is also extremely small. Some do not duct the a/c and if the bedroom is up front, this will be a problem in warm weather. The list goes on. Check these and other things carefully. I have also learned that weight can vary greatly by brand just over use of wood in the walls. For example I really like the Ragen fs26, but is about 800lbs heavier than the Attitude tt27, both with fiberglass. Ragen uses wood studs in the gelcoat walls, Attitude does not. Have fun. Terry

RE: denman or goodyear tires

Its not just the china thing and rah rah USA. Its a quality thing. When I was a kid and growing in the mid 70's and thing would break, we would say, "it must be made in Japan". Fact was that back in that time frame, Japanese stuff was not that good. Now today it is some of the best, while chinese stuff is really poor quality. This is also a safety issue, the chinese track record is horrible on this. Nothing is perfect just because it is made here or there, but fact is, Chinese stuff is currently inferior and I will not risk my life or that of my family or your life while driving next to me any more than I have to. RE: Thor Vortex 284 SA or Comparable Eclipse TH

I just ordered mine today, asked them both for their best final price and then chose one. I went with lower price, he also was honest with me and did not pull that, by the way, all we charge on top of tax and lic. is the prep fee of $495.00. I personally would not go for the delivery thing just because I would want to inspect the unit first. Also the dealer reputation is very important to me, I am tired of car salesman tatics. Good luck.
